19-21 November 2003 – Istanbul

TUDAV experts participated in the second meeting of the scientific committee of ACCOBAMS (Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and contiguous Atlantic area), which was held at Pera Palace Hotel, 19-21 November 2003. The meeting was successful in spite of the terrorist attacks, one of which targeted the British Consulate, very close to the hotel, on 20 November. Our experts actively participated in the discussion on the scientific aspects of the agreement as observers. We also presented our short documentary films on the stranding survey on the eastern Black Sea coast and on the rescue operation of a bycaught sperm whale in the Mediterranean, to the enjoyment of all members and observers following long discussions.
