TUDAV participated in the “Mediterranean Small Island Meeting” in Six-Four city of France between 7 and 10 October 2009. 183 participants joined the meeting from 12 different countries. During the meeting, ecological problems and conservation strategies of small islands were discussed. Biota changes, the relation between introduced and local species as well as the relationship between mankind and introduced species were discussed. Moreover, conservation and usage strategies were also discussed during the meeting. 15 posters were presented during the meeting and one of them was “Gökceada Marine Park” prepared by our foundation. We have distributed postcards and the Natural Heritage of Turkey book in the meeting.

During the opening, our successful work on Gokceada Marine Park was also mentioned by M. Abderrahman Gannoun the general director of RAC/SPA. Our foundation wishes to organize a future meeting in Turkey as we continue to make an effort on this subject.
