6th Scientific Committee meeting of ACCOBAMS, was held in Casablanca, Morocco, 11-13 January 2010.

The 6th Scientific Committee meeting of ACCOBAMS (Agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans of the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and contiguous Atlantic Area) was held in Casablanca, Morocco, on 11-13 January 2010. TÜDAV has been a partner organization of ACCOBAMS since 2009. Dr. Ayaka Amaha Öztürk, our advisor on biodiversity, participated in this meeting as a representative of TÜDAV. During the three day meeting, many issues related to conservation of cetaceans in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean were discussed and recommendations were made on the Black Sea Stock Structure, Marine Protected Areas, Anthropogenic Noise, and Ship Strikes. These recommendations will be considered and discussed at the Meeting of Parties to ACCOBAMS in November 2010.
