The ”Whale Workshop” conceptualized and carried out by Andy Peters since 1995, includes the exhibition of dolphins, whales, sharks and sea turtles in their actual sizes and colours in many parts of the world, came back to Turkey again. The exhibition will take place between 14 – 22 September 2013 in Tepe Nautilus Shopping Center with the support of TUDAV. During the exhibition, workshops and educational activities for children will be held.
Awareness-raising models in their actual sizes have been exhibited in schools, festivals and various events in many countries of the world such as Australia, Iceland, England, Germany, Chile and Borneo since 1995. This time, the exhibition consists of living beings in Turkey’s marine ecosystem.
In Gebze in 2012, we hosted approximately 3500 children with workshops covering paintings, pictures and posters containing brief information about the protection of the sea and many species such as whales, dolphins, sharks and sea turtles.
The exhibition also emphasizes that marine species need to be seen, not in theme parks or dolphin aquariums, but in their natural habitats. In addition, the exhibition is significant since it gives the message of “Free the Dolphins”.
