Türkiye has declared the outer limit of its continental shelf in the Eastern Mediterranean.

On March 18, 2019, Turkey declared the outer boundaries of its continental shelf in the Eastern Mediterranean. The boundary is defined as the median line of the maritime area between Turkey and Egypt, passing through the 32°16‘ 18’’ meridian in the east and the 28° meridian in the west. The area west of 28° will be subject to subsequent delimitations. However, Turkey has not yet declared its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) boundary. As is known, while the continental shelf is a right for all countries, the EEZ is subject to declaration.
