Clean Up The Med! (Let's Keep the Mediterranean Clean!)
As TÜDAV, we are organizing a beach cleanup event with the participation of volunteers on Sunday, May 25, 2014, between 12:30 and 16:30 at Riva Central Beach and Riva Seafood Beach in Riva, Istanbul. We are holding this event within the framework of the Clean Up The Med campaign.
Clean Up The Med is a coastal cleanup campaign held simultaneously across all Mediterranean countries on May 23-24-25, 2014. Spanning 1500 locations from Italy to Algeria, Croatia to Egypt, France to Jordan, Greece to Israel, Lebanon to Malta, Morocco to Albania, Palestine to Portugal, Serbia to Montenegro, Syria to Slovenia, Spain to Tunisia, and Cyprus to Türkiye, the campaign was first launched in 1995. One of the largest volunteer-based environmental campaigns, “Clean Up the Med” is supported by UNEP and led by the Italian environmental protection organization Legambiente, with the support of environmental NGOs across the Mediterranean.
