TUDAV is celebrating 15th Year Anniversary

TUDAV is celebrating 15th Year Anniversary Turkish Marine Research Foundation (TUDAV) established in 1997 by a group of academicians, marine lawyers, nature and sea lovers, celebrated their 15th Anniversary on 17 November 2012, at İstanbul Lütfi Kırdar Convention & Exhibition Centre. Kürşad Tüzmen, Prof. Dr. Mümtaz Soysal, Oktay Sönmez, Orhan Başar, Asaf Ertan and people from marine science researches, marine sectors, people from non-governmental organizations and foreign missions joined for this memorable event. Stay away from these jelly fishes! Pelagia noctiluca (Forskal) Mantar şekildeki vücudundan sarkan 8 adet küçük ve ağız çevresinde bulunan 4 adet büyük tentaküller (duyarga) ile hoş bir görüntü oluşturan 10 -15 cm. boyundaki Pelagia noctiluca aslında zehirli ve tehlikeli bir deniz anasıdır. Fosforesans özelliğinden dolayı suyun altında hafif bir ışık yayar. 50 metre derinliğe kadar görülebilir. Rengi kırmızımsı sarıdan mora doğru değişebilir. Bu hayvana Ege ve Akdeniz kıyılarında özellikle yaz aylarında sıkça rastlanabilir. Duyargalar (tentakül) etrafında bulunan yakıcı kapsüller ile insana dokunduğunda vücutta acılara neden olabilir.
